Graduation

Graduation is the process where we verify that you have met all of the conditions to receive a certificate of completion, certificate, or degree. You must tell us that you are near completion by applying for graduation. This application is mandatory whether you are planning on attending the commencement ceremony or not.

Commencement is held once a year annually in May, after the Spring semester. This is the formal ceremony where graduates are recognized for their achievements by friends, family and Victoria College staff and faculty. Students who graduate in August or December will be invited to Spring commencement.  

 To be eligible for graduation with your associate degree or certificate, you must:

• Fulfill all degree coursework and credit requirements as outlined in your catalog
• If applicable, all course substitutions must be approved and on file
• Earn a grade point average of at least a 2.0
• Complete at least 25 percent of the required credit at Victoria College
• Resolve all holds 

Apply for Graduation

A graduation application is mandatory for all Victoria College students who want to receive their award or participate in commencement. The application is essential for us to ensure all students have met the graduation conditions to receive their award. The graduation application also gives the graduate the opportunity to tell us exactly how you want your name displayed on your diploma. Application Deadlines are displayed at the top of the page. Applying late could result in delay of your graduation date if you are found to be missing requirements or your name not printed in the commencement program. 

**Important: You will be required to apply/reapply for the next graduation if you do not meet the graduation requirements during the graduation term indicated on the graduation application.

Please note that there is not a commencement rehearsal.

Tickets will be required for all attendees, regardless of age.  Tickets will be reserved online through a link provided in an email to the graduates in April.  Once we have confirmation of the number graduates attending, we will communicate the number of tickets each graduate receives.

Commencement is here and one of the requirements is wearing the traditional cap and gown. Wearing your cap and gown marks your entry into the world as a proud college graduate. Victoria College provides regalia that features our VC Pirate Maroon to distinguish a Victoria College graduate.

Victoria College Regalia can be purchased at the VC Bookstore (in store or online). Commencement regalia can be purchased as a set which includes the black gown, black mortarboard and VC maroon tassel or individually.  Graduates can also purchase graduation announcements, diploma frames & covers, and alumni gifts from the VC bookstore.

The Victoria College Bookstore is now located in the VC library, due to renovations at the student center.

• Honor Cords- Students who graduate with a GPA of a 3.5 or above will be given honors cords at the commencement ceremony.
  
• Veterans- If you are a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, we would like to honor you by providing you with a military stole. Please reach out to Robert Cubriel, Director of Advising, on how to secure your commencement stole.
  
• Phi Theta Kappa Students- PTK students who wish to display their academic achievement with PTK regalia may do so. PTK regalia can be purchased at https://www.ptk.org/
  
• National Society of Leadership and Success Students- NSLS students who wish to display their academic achievement with NSLS regalia may do so. NSLS regalia can be purchased at https://shop.nsls.org/   

John Hudgeons Photography is proud to be the official Victoria College commencement photographer. As graduates walk across the stage a professional photo will be taken as they accept their VC diploma tube from VC's President.  All graduates will have their photo taken.  John Hudgeons Photography will have a table at the commencement ceremony to take order forms and answer any questions.
