About the Crossroads
Victoria is home to a wide variety of cultural arts and events that reflect the unique blend of diversity represented in the Crossroads area. Victoria College is an established community partner with an enduring tradition of contributing to local cultural heritage.
The Museum of the Coastal Bend, which is located on the Victoria College campus, showcases the rich multi-cultural heritage of the mid-coastal region of Texas. In historic downtown Victoria, The Nave Museum offers rotating visual art exhibits and cultural art events, and the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Golden Crescent fosters lifelong learning for children and families.
The Victoria Fine Arts Association brings together a host of performing arts in Victoria, including the Victoria Ballet and the Victoria Theater. Throughout the year, the Victoria Symphony hosts the Bach Festival and numerous other concerts. Additionally, VC frequently presents choral programs, band concerts, and art shows that are free and open to the public.
Victoria College is also host to the annual Lyceum Lecture Series, which features premiere speakers who provide outstanding cultural and intellectual enrichment for the local community. VC is also home to the John W. Stormont Lectures on South Texas, hosted each year by VC’s Division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
