Computer Information Systems

The Computer Information Systems Program at Victoria College prepares you for a variety of entry-level jobs such as PC technician, network technician LAN administrator, telecommunications technician, WLAN technician or LAN security technician.

You may choose from two certificates or an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Each of the certificate programs includes classes that will satisfy requirements for the associate degree, so you may choose to begin with a certificate program and easily move on to the degree program in the future.

Coursework includes:

  • Emphasis on labs that will build skills
  • Knowledge necessary to pass industry standard certificates such as A+, Network+, Server+, MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional), CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • Cisco Network Academy program for both CCNA and CCNP

Specialty certificates will provide you with the foundation you will need in networking, PC hardware, firewalls and security, wireless, and server administration. The degree program includes academic training in addition to the specialty areas, plus an on-the-job internship that will provide you industry experience.
