Dual Credit / Early Admission

Dual credit is defined as college classes that are taken during the junior and/or senior years of high school and counts as credit for high school and college.

Early Admissions is defined as students who have not yet completed high school enrolling for college classes for which they will only receive college credit. Students will not receive any high school credit. Students may be of any age.

Spring 2016 payment deadline for all dual enrolled students will be on January 5.

Checklist for Admissions (new students)

A student's first step in the application process is to meet with their high school counselor to receive academic advising on appropriate class selection. Students should then be ready to continue through the application process:

  • Contact a high school counselor about eligibility criteria. Home schooled students should call the Pre-College Programs & Recruitment office at (361) 485-6823 to speak with a recruitment representative.  
  • Apply to Victoria College at www.ApplyTexas.org and allow 3-5 days for processing. Write down the application ID, username and password for tracking purposes.

  • Submit an official high school transcript to the Admissions & Records Office. The official transcript must be in the original sealed envelope.

  • Complete testing requirements, if needed and submit scores to the Admissions & Records Office. Either ACT, SAT, STAAR EOC, or TSI scores will be accepted. PSAT/STAAR EOC scores will be accepted for juniors only. Required scores are listed on page 5 of the Guide to Dual Credit & Early Admission.

  • Attend a required dual credit orientation along with one parent or guardian.

  • Complete and submit the following forms which can be accessed at www.VictoriaCollege.edu/DualCreditEarlyAdmission.

            Dual Credit & Early Admission Agreement -Student/Parent

            Agreement Form

            FERPA Release - Student/Parent

            Registration Form - Counselor

  • Apply for scholarships.
  • Pay all tuition and fees or enroll in an installment plan

Additional Requirements for Dual Credit Enrollment only and Returning Dual Credit Students

  2. Complete and submit the following to the High School Counselor or Pre-College Programs and Recruitment Office:
  • Agreement Form
  • FERPA Release- All students should have this form on file. If we do not have this form on file, discussion can only be made with the student.
