Learning Frameworks EDUC 1300/SDEV 0301

Course Description

Learning Frameworks provides an in-depth study into the research and theory behind the psychology of learning, cognition, motivation, the factors that impact learning, and the application of learning strategies.  Students are expected to utilize the learning inventories completed in the course to help them identify their strengths and weaknesses as learners and to help them choose the right career path.  Additionally, students will explore the campus and their community to help identify the connections and resources that are available to them as active and engaged students and citizens.  

Learning Outcomes

  • Students will identify and critically evaluate self-awareness information related to college and career success,
  • Students will critically evaluate data from career and interest inventories to create a personal college and career plan,
  • Students will develop a productive self-management plan utilizing strategies, skills, and tools explored throughout the frameworks course, and
  • Students will demonstrate understanding of effective interpersonal skills by using community and campus resources to foster academic and career success.

Portfolio Project

Students in Learning Frameworks will complete a portfolio project to demonstrate their mastery of the intended outcomes.  (More details coming soon)
