Giving Opportunities

With Victoria College no longer depending solely on public funding, the VC Foundation works to supplement the rising cost of tuition by garnering scholarship support, seeking grant funding for programs and projects, and placing an emphasis on planned giving and endowments to be used to sustain the college into the future.

You can designate your gift to a specific scholarship, academic program, or any other special need.  If you make an unrestriced gift you give the VC Foundation the ability to apply funds where students or programs need them most, including taking advantage of unexpected opportunities and meeting unforseen challenges.

Gifts made to the Victoria College Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization, are tax-deductible as allowed by law.  Upon accepting your contribution, we will promptly forward a gift receipt to you.

Corporate/Matching Gifts

Many local corporations sponsor Matching Gift Programs to enhance employee contributions made to institutions of higher education.  If you or your spouse work for a matching gift employer, your gift to VC may be doubled, even tripled.  Some companies even match gifts made by retirees.  Consult your Human Resources Department with your employer to see if your company participates.

Endowments provide a perpetual source of funds.  An established endowment offers an avenue for future giving from the original donor, or from others that will further grow the corpus.

  • Established with a minimum gift of $15,000.
(one lump sum or installment payments)
  • Flexibility to designate focus to scholarships, program support, faculty/staff developments or capital improvements.
  • VC Foundation's portfolio is managed by an outside investment advisor in conjunction with VC Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Plaques with etched images of business logos or individual donor names are displayed on the VC campus.

All donors are provided with an annual report of the endowment's performance.  In addition, names of all students awarded scholarships from the endowment are provided to the donor.

Honorariums/Memorials are a unique, lasting gift that expresses more than words alone.  A donation in honor or memory of a friend, loved one, or colleague is an enduring way to recognize them, and provide scholarships and other resources for well-deserving VC students.

Scholarships can be need-based or merit-based, and include selection criteria that specifies a course of study, residency preference, a GPA standard, or other conditions for awarding funds.  A scholarship committee comprised of VC faculty and staff review all scholarship applications to match applicants with scholarships.  The committee works very closely with donors to ensure their original intentions are fulfilled.  There are several ways that donors can fund student scholarships at VC:

  • Scholarship Endowment
  • Scholarship-College Selected
  • General Scholarship Support

Capital Projects

Capital gifts leave a lasting impression and ensure campus facilities can serve generations of students for many years to come.  Contributions may be utilized as a perpetual endowment where the gift is invested and earnings used to finance building projects, purchase state-of-the-art equipment or, maintain campus capital improvements.  Capital gifts include naming opportunities for facilities, buildings or rooms.
