Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning

VC’s Workforce & Continuing Education offers a series of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning training courses that will prepare students for a career as an HVAC specialist.

The curriculum included in this series of classes progresses through four levels of HVAC coursework. Upon successful completion of all related courses, you will be eligible to become a licensed HVAC technician with the state of Texas.

HVAC courses are taught by experienced professionals. Illustrated instructional materials and structured classroom activities include:

  • Trade mathematics
  • Copper and plastic piping practices
  • Soldering and brazing
  • Commercial airside systems chimneys, vents, and flues
  • Introduction to the hydronic systems
  • Air quality equipment
  • A study of refrigerants and oils
  • Compressors
  • Metering devices
  • Retail refrigeration systems
  • Construction drawings and specifications
  • System balancing
  • Indoor air quality
  • Energy conservation equipment
  • Building management systems
