VC to host High School All-Star Baseball Game

Victoria College will host its first High School All-Star Baseball Game for area seniors on Saturday, May 21 at Riverside Stadium.

Nineteen area schools have been invited to nominate deserving senior baseball athletes to participate. This inaugural High School All-Star game is meant to contribute to the Victoria Crossroads’ rich baseball history, along with showcasing area talent.

Schools invited to participate, include:

  • Faith Family
  • Victoria St. Joseph
  • Calhoun
  • Yorktown
  • Bloomington
  • Gonzales
  • Goliad
  • Ganado
  • Edna
  • Yoakum
  • Industrial
  • Shiner
  • Shiner-St. Paul
  • Hallettsville
  • Hallettsville Sacred Heart
  • Cuero
  • Refugio
  • Palacios
  • Karnes City
  • Kenedy
  • El Campo
  • Louise

Based on the positions they play, athletes selected as All Stars will be divided into two teams on game day.  The maroon team will be coached by VC Baseball Coach Matt Williams and the white team will be coached by VC Baseball Coach Phillip Barron. Additionally, members of the VC Pirates baseball team will assist with coaching and workout with the All Stars during practice and the pre-game warm up.

Pre-game ceremonies are scheduled to include entertainment by the VC Treasures Dance Team along with the participants from their recent youth dance camp. There will also be baseball-related activities for both children and adults. Following the game, special recognition will be given to area teams now in their post season.
