Victoria College offers nursing information night in Hallettsville

Victoria College will hold a nursing information night in Hallettsville on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. for those interested in the vocational nursing program. The event will occur at VC’s Hallettsville location in the Zelda L. Allen School of Nursing at 1410 North Texana in Hallettsville.

“We have implemented some critical changes to our application process and the process starts much earlier this year than it has in past years,” said Hallettsville’s VN Program Secretary Patricia Grahmann. “We want to be sure to reach as many prospective students as possible.”

VC’s vocational nursing program is a one-year certificate program designed to enable students to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies related to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals. Vocational nursing graduates are prepared to function as members of the health care team under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians in varied health care settings. The vocational nursing program can also serve as a bridge for those wishing to continue into VC’s Associate Degree-Nursing Program to earn certification as a registered nurse.

Completion of the program entitles the learner to apply to write the National Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).
