Vietnam War reviewed in VC/UHV Library Conference

Dr. Lee March discusses the wars in Korea and Vietnam in the first panel discussion of the Vietnam Experience Conference.
Some 60 people attended the Vietnam Experience Conference, hosted by the VC/UHV Library on Thursday and Friday. Dr. Lee March, left, was the opening speaker on Thursday morning, discussing the decisions of Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson in the wars in Korean and Vietnam. March, a professor of political science at Young Harris College in Georgia described the leisurely pace, compared to today, at how Truman was notified after North Korea troops invaded South Korea in June 1950. Other panel topics at the conference included:

•    Case Studies of the War in the Vietnam Province
•    The War in the Air
•    Oral History and the Vietnam Experience.
