VC Calhoun County Center holds Summer Kids College Camp

Victoria College’s Calhoun County Center hosted its first Summer Kids College Camp the week of June 17. It consisted of four half days of hands-on learning and fun in the areas of magic, health, science, and theatre.

Professional magician Scott Hollingsworth taught children magic tricks, Stella Leonard introduced them to areas of healthcare such as checking blood pressure and the food groups. Debra Sonsel led campers on a bug-catching excursion at the Center, and Jody Weaver taught them the basics of theatre.The children put on a mini-play.

Center Manager Sherre Clegg said the campers enjoyed the experience.
