Victoria College will host a Veteran Student Information Session on Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Johnson Hall, Room 200, on VC’s Main Campus. All current and prospective students eligible for military educational benefits are invited to attend.

Victoria College veteran advisors will present an overview of future plans for the Veteran Resource Center. The key purpose of the Center is to provide student support services to veterans as they pursue their academic goals.

The Veteran Resource Center will be located in Johnson Hall, Room 102, and will serve as a location where student veterans can relax, connect with other veterans, study and obtain information regarding VA educational benefits and community resources.
In collaboration with the Texas Veteran Commission and Gulf Bend Center, Victoria College is committed to working with veterans to identity services that will assist them as they transition to civilian life.

“In thanks and appreciation of their service, it is our honor to offer these opportunities and chances of success to our veterans and their dependents,” said Bobby Cubriel, director of VC’s Advising & Counseling Services.

According to Dr. Florinda Correa, VC’s vice president of Student Services, the Veteran Resource Center is part of the College’s strategic plan.

This is a first step toward achieving our goal to centralize services for veterans,” Correa said. “Connecting veterans to the Center and revitalizing the Victoria College Veteran Association are part of this initiative. The College will continue to work to identify funding sources that will expand services provided by the Veteran Resource Center.”
