Two VC professors serve as music clinicians

Dr. Marylynn Fletcher

Dr. Marylynn Fletcher, music professor at Victoria College, was a clinician at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio February 12-15. She also performed as a violinist on the Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir concert.

The Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio was attended by 25,000 music educators and music industry employees. Fletcher was one of five panel members who discussed “Going from High School Student to College Music Major” with nearly 100 people in attendance.

Jonathan Anderson, VC music professor and director of bands at Victoria College, served as jazz clinician/conductor at the Texas Music Educators Association Region 14 Jazz Ensemble clinic hosted at Flour Bluff High School. The clinic also featured Victoria East High School participants Wesley Ybanez and Alan Olmos, and Samantha Lin from Calhoun High School. Clinicians assisted with participating band auditions and selected the music participants played.
