VC to co-host genealogy workshop July 12

The VC/UHV Library, along with the Victoria County Genealogy Society, will host a genealogy workshop on Saturday, July 12. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the VC Student Center, Rooms A-D.

The workshop will be conducted by Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck, a Fellow of the National Genealogical Society. He is a former supervisor of the genealogy section of the Dallas Public Library.

Topics to be covered in the workshop include:

  •     Origins of Names
  •     Southern Migrations (especially coming to Texas)
  •     Locating Documents Prior to 1850
  •     Immigration Records for Family History Research

Cost for the day-long workshop is $45 and includes a box lunch.

Workshop registration forms are available at the Victoria Regional History Center in the VC/UHV Library, 2602 N. Ben Jordan St., in Victoria.
