VC Spring Carnival features Easter Egg Hunt, games and refreshments

Children scramble to pick up as many plastic eggs as they can find in VCs Easter Egg Hunt at the annual Spring Carnival in 2014.

Victoria College’s annual Spring Carnival and Easter Egg Hunt will be held Wednesday, April 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the VC Quad area.

The Easter Egg Hunt, which is free and open to the public, begins at 5:45 p.m., with separate sections for younger and older children. Children up to 13 years old can compete in the egg hunt.

The carnival will feature booths and games such as bean bag toss, ring toss, basket raffle, sack races, football toss, sucker pull, hoola hoop, duck pond, pin the tail on the bunny, strongman, fish pond, chuck-a-duck, pneumo-darts, face painting and balloon animals.

Refreshments available at the carnival include popcorn, snow cones, candy apples, cookies, nachos, cotton candy and pickles.

There will be a charge for Spring Carnival booths, games, food and drinks. Costs range from 50 cents to two dollars. A portion of the carnival proceeds will benefit VC clubs and the Relay for Life of Victoria County event.

VC organizations participating in the event include the TRiO Club, Student Government Association, SCOPE (Student Cardiopulmonary Organization Practicing Excellence), Associate Degree Nursing – Student Nurses Association, United Campus Ministry, Phi Theta Kappa and the Science Club.

Parking is available at Entrances 1 and 2 off Ben Jordan Street.

The event is hosted by Victoria College’s Student Activities Office.
