Commercial Truck Driving course moves to VCs Emerging Technology Complex

Victoria College’s next Commercial Truck Driving course begins Monday, June 1 in a new location. The course will be taught at the recently-opened Industrial Training Center, a part of VC’s new Emerging Technology Complex.

“We are excited about offering the Commercial Truck Driving course at our new state-of-the-art facility on Lone Tree Road,” said Mary Pullin, VC Workforce & Continuing Education program specialist. “We encourage students to register early for the course by visiting us at our new home at the Emerging Technology Complex.”

During the seven-week course, students will participate in classroom activities and hands-on training, which includes using VC’s state-of-the-art truck simulator and driving an 18-wheeler and a tanker truck.

As part of the course, students will take the Commercial Driver License written and driving examinations at the Department of Public Safety. Graduates of the course will be eligible for entry-level employment in the trucking industry in just seven weeks.
Students are required to have a valid Texas driver’s license and complete a Texas Department of Public Safety physical examination and drug and alcohol screening.

The Emerging Technology Complex is located at 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria.
