Dale’s Fun Center promotes safety with motorcycle loans to VC

Promoting safety on Crossroads area roads was the purpose behind Dale and Janet Stubbs’ generous loan of three motorcycles to Victoria College’s Workforce & Continuing Education Department’s Motorcycle Basic RiderCourse. The Stubbs, owners and operators of Dale’s Fun Center, provided three 2014 Honda Rebel CMX 250 motorcycles to be used by students enrolling in the course. Victoria College is the only provider of this training in the Crossroads region, which is now held at VC’s Industrial Training Center at the Emerging Technology Complex. Dale Stubbs said he hopes to replace the loaner bikes with newer models on an annual basis. “We want to do whatever we can to promote safety,” he said. “Motorcycle riders need to take this course. I’ve even had some who already had a motorcycle license and went back to take the course, then return to my shop and explain how much more they had learned. It was at that point we decided this is something we really needed to support.” Mary Pullin, VC Workforce & Continuing Education program specialist, expressed gratitude for the motorcycles. “Dale and Janet have been extremely generous in the loan of these three bikes, which are vital to our Motorcycle Basic RiderCourse,” Pullin said. “We are pleased to count Dale’s Fun Center as our partner in education.” Pictured, from left, are: Janet and Dale Stubbs, and Pullin.
