Registration open for VC healthcare courses
Registration is underway for the following Victoria College healthcare courses and a certification exam preparation:
  • Pharmacy Technician, which will be offered from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays, through Sept. 10, at the VC Gonzales Center. Students enrolling in this course must be at least 18 years of age and have completed high school or have a GED. Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and be prepared to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam. In the Crossroads region, pharmacy technicians are in high demand and earn an average of $31,000 a year.
  • Phlebotomy, which will be offered from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 6-Sept. 29, in the Health Sciences Center, Room 221, on VC’s Main Campus and 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays , Aug. 5-Sept. 28, at the VC Gonzales Center. The course will include clinical experience in area medical labs. Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and be prepared to take the Phlebotomy Certification Examination. In the Crossroads region, phlebotomists are in high demand and earn an average of $31,000 a year.
  • Phlebotomy – Certification Exam Prep, which will be held July 11 and 25, Aug. 8 and 22, and Sept. 12 at the Health Sciences Center, Room 133, on VC’s Main Campus. During each session, students who have successfully completed the phlebotomy class will review what they have learned to prepare for the Phlebotomy Certification Examination.
