Pirate Orientation sessions set for new VC students
Pirate Orientation
Students participate in group activities during a Pirate Orientation session last summer.

New students wanting to enroll at Victoria College for the spring semester can do so by attending a Pirate Orientation session on Wednesday, Dec. 2 or Thursday, Dec. 17. Both sessions are 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in Victoria College’s Student Center.

During Pirate Orientation, students will create a degree plan, plan their class schedule, and learn about their responsibilities as a VC student. Following the session, students will also be able to register for classes, tour the campus, purchase books, make payments and get a student ID.

“Pirate Orientation was designed as a part of our Quality Enhancement Plan to help transition new students into college life,” said Bobby Cubriel, VC’s Advising & Counseling Services director. “The event gives students the opportunity to connect with faculty, staff and future classmates while learning about the programs, services and resources VC offers to help them become successful students and graduates.”

All incoming freshmen are required to participate in Pirate Orientation, and those who do not attend Pirate Orientation will have a hold placed on their account preventing course registration.
