VC offers vocational nursing information sessions

Crossroads residents interested in Victoria College’s Vocational Nursing Program can attend one of several information sessions in February and March.

Sessions will be held in:

  • Hallettsville, Thursday, Feb. 11, 6:30-8 p.m., at the Zelda L. Allen School of Nursing, 1410 N. Texana St.
  • Gonzales, Tuesday, Feb. 16, noon-1 p.m., at the VC Gonzales Center, Rm. 119, located at 424 E. Sarah DeWitt Dr.
  • Cuero, Monday, Feb. 22, 6-7:30 p.m., at VC’s Vocational Nursing Program in Cuero, 2550 N. Esplanade (behind the Cuero Community Hospital).
  • Victoria, Wednesday, March 2, 6-7 p.m., at VC’s Health Sciences Center, Rm. 132, located at 2200 E. Red River St. (across from Citizens Medical Center).
Information on the application process, financial aid and requirements of the VN Program will be offered at the sessions.

VC’s Vocational Nursing Program is a one-year certificate program. Graduates are prepared to function as members of the healthcare team under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians in varied healthcare settings. The VN Program can also serve as a bridge for those wishing to continue into VC’s Associate Degree Nursing Program to earn certification as a registered nurse.

Upon successful completion of the VN Program, students are eligible to apply to take the National Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses.
