VC invites community to meet vice president of instruction finalists

Victoria College invites students, faculty, staff and community members to meet the five finalists for its next vice president of instruction. Each of the finalists will visit VC’s Main Campus and participate in open forums between March 28 and April 5.

“This is a very important position for the College, and we would love to have community members come and hear the candidates during the forums,” said Dr. David Hinds, VC president. “It’s important that we select a strong candidate for this critical positon responsible for overseeing all our credit programs.”

A search committee interviewed several semifinalists and recommended that five finalists be brought to campus. Each finalist will participate in a campus and community forum at 1:30 p.m. in the VC Student Center on the following days:

  • Monday, March 28 – Dr. Dreand Johnson, dean of mathematics and sciences, Tarrant County College’s Trinity River Campus
  • Tuesday, March 29 – Dr. Holly Bennett, provost, Palm Beach State College’s Belle Glade Campus
  • Wednesday, March 30 – Marjorie Price-Seeger, vice president of academic affairs, Dawson Community College
  • Monday, April 4 – Dr. Daria Willis, dean of academic studies, Lee College
  • Tuesday, April 5 – Dr. Betsy Crane, dean of career, health and technical professions, Victoria College

Dr. Patricia Vandervoort has served as VC’s vice president of instruction since May 2006 and plans to retire in July. The announcement of the next vice president of instruction is expected in mid-June.
