Members of Victoria College’s Dirt Nerd Club caravanned to Kansas City, Mo., for the 50th annual conference of the National Council for the Education of Ceramics Arts during Spring Break.

“The trip gave our members opportunities to see great art, visit art museums, watch innovative methods of making ceramics and rub elbows with rock stars of the clay world,” said Debra Chronister, art associate professor and the club’s advisor.

Chronister said trip highlights included getting to know colleagues better, meeting some of the 6,000 other ceramic artists and students from around the world, and playing Hide-N-CECA—a game of hide-and-seek played with real ceramic art objects hidden throughout the city.

Pictured, Dirt Club members Angela Garcia, Kristin Underwood, Thomas Rodriguez, Robert Steed, Chronister, Megan Perez, Kat Hulbert, Joni Atkins, Josh Howe, and Gabrielle Rivera posed with lunch hosts Donna and Don Hocker in Gainseville, Texas, on their way to the conference.
