VC students, employees give back to the community
Pirates Give Back Volunteers

About 30 Victoria College students and employees spent the morning of Saturday, April 16 volunteering at the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent and Habitat for Humanity for the annual Pirates Give Back event. Many of the students who participated are active members of VC’s Student Government Association, the Sports Club or SCOPE – the Student Cardiopulmonary Organization Practicing Excellence.

"Pirates Give Back is our opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering for local nonprofits,” said Elaine Everett-Hensley, director of the Student Center and Student Activities.

This year, participants also delivered gift baskets to the police station, sheriff's office, hospitals and firehouses.

“We wanted to let them know that what they do matters and that we are grateful,” said Everett-Hensley.
