New Victoria College freshmen participate in an icebreaker at the beginning of a Pirate Orientation session in January.

With summer registration underway, Victoria College has opened four Pirate Orientation sessions for new freshmen who plan to attend VC during the summer or fall semesters.

Pirate Orientation sessions are planned for June 23, July 7 and July 14 at VC’s Main Campus, and students planning to enroll in courses at the VC Gonzales Center can participate in Pirate Orientation there Aug. 11.

“While Pirate Orientation is mandatory for new freshmen, we believe students are truly seeing the value of attending the presentations, meeting other students and getting acclimated before their first day of class,” said Bobby Cubriel, director of Advising and Counseling Services.

During Pirate Orientation, students will create a degree plan, map out their class schedule and learn about their responsibilities as a VC student. Following the session, students will also be able to tour the campus and get a student ID.
