Summer fun is back at Victoria College. This year’s Kids College camps will take place June 20-23 with the exception of the Video Game Design Camp which will run June 20-30. All camps will take place at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex, 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria.

“We are excited to offer the Survival Tactics Camp again this year,” said Mary Pullin, VC’s Workforce & Continuing Education program specialist. “It was a hit last year. Participants loved learning basic techniques for survival such as how to purify water and signal for help.”

Victoria College will also offer the following camps.

LEGO Mania, for children ages 5-7, provides opportunities for imagination and hands-on learning under the guidance of a certified educator.

LEGO Logo, for children ages 8-12, allows participants to build robots, race cars, four-by-four trucks, cranes, pulleys and levers.

LEGO Expert, for children ages 8-12, includes activity-based projects that will incorporate physical science and math all in one.

Fashion Designer, for children ages 8-12, allows participants to bring fashion designs to life with beautifully patterned papers, ribbons, sequins, jewels and other embellishments.

Hot Wheels World of Discovery & Learning with Play-Doh, for children ages 5-7, covers everything from dinosaurs, prehistoric volcanoes, animals, food, transportation and the solar system.

Camp Barbie, for children ages 5-8, will teach participants how to dress for the occasion, practice good manners, make new friends, use money and more.

Your Creative Project Expressions, for children ages 6-12, will give participants an opportunity to use various materials to create a scrapbook, a comic strip and fashion creations.

The Video Game Design Camp will give middle and high school students the opportunity to learn game design and create a fully functioning video game.

Pullin said there is limited space and encouraged parents to register their children early for Kids College. The cost is $105 for all summer camps except for the Video Design Camp which is $200.
