Former faculty, staff attend luncheon hosted by VC Foundation

The VC Foundation hosted its annual retiree luncheon on May 25.

The Victoria College Foundation hosted a luncheon on Wednesday, May 25 for approximately 50 retired employees of Victoria College.  

Following a welcome by VC President Dr. David Hinds, Amy Mundy, the VC Foundation’s executive director, provided a brief update noting “Victoria College Foundation, because of our supporters, has had great success this year in regards to fundraising, scholarships, grants and community engagement. The VC Foundation awards more than 750 scholarships annually totaling in excess of $700,000.”

Mundy introduced Pam Neuman, director of Victoria College’s KEY Center, who provided an overview of the program. The KEY Center is a Federal TRiO Student Support Services program that is designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students accepted into the program must meet at least one of the following criteria:  first-generation college student, low income or have a documented disability. The local program is able to support 165 students each year. 

Following the program, retirees and their guests were treated to coffee and dessert while reviewing photos of their tenure at Victoria College.
