Kids invited to free downtown movies
Movie Series
The Leo J. Welder Center is hosting free movies during the summer.

Victoria College’s Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts will host a series of seven free movies for children and families this summer.

Community members are invited to watch the local channels for clues to the names of the movies that will be shown and guess correctly for a chance to win prizes. A $50 gift card from Dick’s Food Store will be given away each week. Contest rules are posted online at CrossroadsToday.com.

Movies are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 29 and will be shown each Wednesday at 3 p.m. through Aug. 10.

The series will feature classics and today’s popular children’s movies suitable for the entire family.

The series is sponsored by Dick’s Food Store, DeTar Healthcare System and True Internet.

The Leo J. Welder Center lobby and concessions stand will open one hour before each movie. Limited audience seating is available and admittance is first-come, first-served. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

For information, call the Leo J. Welder Center management office at (361) 485-8540.
