Eighteen Victoria College adult education students received their GED certificates during a ceremony on July 16 at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts.

VC President Dr. David Hinds welcomed the graduates and guests to the event. VC Adult Education Director Tiffany Johnson recognized the students, who were presented their certificates from VC Testing and Assessment Director Donna Rodriguez.

“Congratulations to the graduates for your hard work and dedication,” Hinds said. “It takes family, friends, faculty and staff to get you to the point where you are. It also takes an internal drive to do something you want to accomplish for yourself. We’re very, very proud of all of you.”

The recipient of the Dr. Karen Hoblit Scholarship of $250 was Katherine Gonzales. Guiying Liu and Michael Valadez each received $250 as recipients of Victoria College Adult Education Staff Scholarships.

A total of 111 GED students received their certificates during the 2015-16 school year.
