Victoria College Professor of Music and Fine Arts Department Chair Jona Anderson was honored on July 20 for his 17 years of service on the board of directors for the Victoria Fine Arts Association.

Anderson, who is stepping down from the board, received an award from VFAA President John Gilley during a surprise presentation at VC’s Fine Arts Building.

“We were sad to see you go and we hope to see you come and participate. You’re always welcome,” Gilley told Anderson during the presentation.

“It was a pleasure to work with the VFAA board, and I'm so blown away by the recognition,” Anderson said. “When you are working or volunteering with a board, it requires everyone to do their part. Everyone on this board should be recognized; they are all talented, passionate and committed to our community.”
