VC schedules Pirate Orientation sessions for new freshmen
Captain Vic welcomes new freshmen to VC during a recent Pirate Orientation session.

Incoming freshmen at Victoria College will have a chance to attend one of two Pirate Orientation sessions at the Main Campus and one at the Gonzales Center before classes begin for the Spring 2017 semester.

Pirate Orientation sessions are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18 and Friday, Dec. 9 at VC’s Main Campus and Thursday, Jan. 5 at VC’s Gonzales Center. All incoming freshmen are required to attend one Pirate Orientation session before they can register for classes. Each session is from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and lunch is provided.

“Pirate Orientation is a chance for new freshmen to meet other students, faculty and staff,” VC Advising and Counseling Services Director Bobby Cubriel said. “It’s good for students to get acquainted with VC’s campus and facilities, and it’s also a great opportunity for them to get answers to any questions before their first day of classes.”

Freshmen will tour VC’s Main Campus, create a degree plan, map out their class schedule and learn about their responsibilities as a VC student.

For more information or to sign up for Pirate Orientation, visit or call VC’s Advising and Counseling Services Office at (361) 582-2400.
