Victoria College’s Academy of Lifelong Learning will hold its Spring Open House from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts, which is located at 214 N. Main Street in downtown Victoria.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning is a member-driven organization for active adults, offering classes and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth.

“We are excited about the courses, events and activities offered this spring,” VC Lifelong Learning Specialist Ashley Lindsey said. “These activities allow members to gain knowledge in areas of their interests and provide an opportunity for them to create new friendships and social networks.”

Guests can view the Spring 2017 schedule and become members of the Academy of Lifelong Learning at the Jan. 12 event. An annual fee of $50 entitles members to attend all courses and activities during the spring semester.

Academy of Lifelong Learning courses and activities scheduled for this spring include:

·         Day trips with Texas Master Naturalists

·         Dry Comal Creek wine tour and tasting

·         “Feathered Friends” field trip

·         Caring for Your Pet

·         Xenophobia in America

·         Butterfly Haven

·         Spring Wreath Making

·         Hand Mold Workshop

·         Stained Glass Making

·         Container Gardening
