Brooklyn-based dance company BS Movement will perform during a Victoria College Dirt Nerds Ceramics Club event on Feb. 9 at the Nave Museum.

Victoria College’s Dirt Nerds Ceramics Club and the Nave Museum will cohost a demonstration celebrating the language of art and dance at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at the Nave Museum, located at 306 W. Commercial St. in Victoria.

The free event will feature the dance company, BS Movement, which is codirected by Brooklyn, New York-based choreographers Shaina Branfman and Bryan Strimpel.

“We will explore the similarities in the language we use to describe art, architecture and dance,” said Debra Chronister, Victoria College art associate professor. “How do line, form and color combine in space to form a sculpture, a building or a choreographed sequence? How do those terms then translate to human movement?”

The event, which is open to the public, will start at 12:30 p.m. inside the Nave Museum and progress outdoors, weather permitting.
