Hermanson’s ‘Underbelly’ exhibit to be displayed at VC gallery
This and other works by artist Liz Hermanson will be on display at Victoria College’s Fine Arts Gallery from Feb. 9 to March 3.

Victoria College will host an exhibit of prints and drawings by Austin-based artist Liz Hermanson beginning with an artist’s reception on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at VC’s Fine Arts Building.

The exhibit, titled “Underbelly,” will be on display at VC’s Fine Arts Gallery on Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. until March 3.

“I am delighted to have Liz Hermanson showing at the gallery this month,” said Victoria College art instructor Cathleen Gordon. “This is the first time Victoria College’s Fine Arts Gallery has hosted a show by a master printmaker, and I am excited to introduce our students and the community to an art form that is rooted in such deep tradition.”

Hermanson, who obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013, produces work addressing the subconscious and its associations with isolation, social phobias and nightmares.

VC’s Fine Arts Building faces Red River Street between the main entrance and entrance 6. The gallery is on the opposite side of the building from Red River Street, facing the Student Center.
