VC to hold Dating Violence Workshop on Feb. 15

A Dating Violence Workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 from noon to 1 p.m. at Victoria College’s Johnson Symposium.

Fernanda Zovath, a prevention specialist with Mid-Coast Family Services, will present information about dating violence at the event, which is free and open to the public.

According to LoveIsRespect.org, 52 percent of college women reported knowing a friend who has experienced violent and abusing dating. Almost 60 percent of college students say they don’t know what to do to help someone who is a victim of dating abuse.

For more information on the event, contact Melanie Gerdes, VC counselor, at (361) 582-2572 or Melanie.Gerdes@VictoriaCollege.edu.
