VC Chick-fil-A All-Star Girls Basketball Game set for April 12

Some of the Crossroads area’s top high school girls basketball players will be assembled on Wednesday, April 12 at 6 p.m. at Victoria College’s Sports Center when they compete in the Seventh Annual VC Chick-fil-A All-Star Game.

Among the 21 high school seniors selected to play in the game are Goliad’s Roxanne Morris, Michala Janssen and Jade Reyna, who led the Tigerettes to the Class 3A state tournament. Morris was recently named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state team. Morris, Janssen and Reyna were all chosen to the TABC all-region team.

Other players selected to play in the game are Calhoun’s Abby Hroch, who earned TABC Class 5A all-state and all-region honors, Hallettsville’s Katya Czaplinski (Class 3A all-region), Palacios’ Lila Filip (Class 3A all-region), Ganado’s Cheyenne Galindo (Class 2A all-region), Shiner’s Abby Thomas (Class 2A all-region), Victoria West’s Cameron Lamar and Chelsea Lacy, Victoria East’s Andrea Jackson, El Campo’s Paige Halamicek, Cuero’s Martina Stavinoha and Shania Hatter, Bloomington’s Kayesha Wallace, Edna’s Ashley Soto and Kristie Soto, Yorktown’s Stephanie Mattox, Victoria St. Joseph’s Allyson Rodriguez, Hallettsville Sacred Heart’s Emilee Mudd and Shiner St. Paul’s Emma Morgan.

“Victoria College is honored to showcase the best high school basketball players in our area each year and thankful to Chick-fil-A for sponsoring the event,” said VC Sports Center Coordinator Josh Moore. “It is a great way to offer these athletes some exposure and reward them for all of their hard work.”

Tickets for the game will be $5 for adults and $2 for students.
