Healthy Cooking School to be held May 9 at VCs Emerging Technology Complex

Texas A&M Healthy South Texas along with Texas AHEC East-Victoria Region, Lamar and the Victoria Television Group will sponsor the Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at Victoria College’s Emerging Technology Complex.

The event will be presented by Healthy South Texas and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. Doors will open at 5 p.m. so participants can visit exhibits and vendors. The cost of the event is $20 in advance and $30 at the door. Registration is available online at AgriLifeRegister.Tamu.edu or by calling (979) 845-2604.

Dinner Tonight is designed to help busy families enjoy healthy and delicious meals and provide fitness tips to help people become more active.

Chef James Canter with Guerilla Gourmet and the county extension agents from Victoria, Calhoun, Dewitt, Lavaca and Jackson counties will be conducting food demonstrations. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the event. Each participant will be provided with a recipe book in the registration bags that are packed with a variety of items from the event’s sponsors.
