Lester and Burdine Giese of Nursery have created the Diana Giese Rhodes Endowed Scholarship in honor of Diana Rhodes at the Victoria College Foundation.

Lester and Burdine Giese of Nursery have created the Diana Giese Rhodes Endowed Scholarship to benefit Victoria College’s Law Enforcement Academy. The endowment was named in honor of Lester Giese’s sister and former VC student Diana Giese Rhodes.

Diana Giese Rhodes is an alumna of the Victoria Civilian Police Academy and has been on the Nursery Independent School District’s Board of Trustees for 35 years.

“Diana has been very involved with the police department and very involved with education,” Lester Giese said. “This covers two of her interests, education and police work, so it is a good match.”

“I am excited and delighted,” Diana Giese Rhodes said. “I’m very pleased that they thought to do this to honor me.”

“Education and law enforcement are very important to Diana, and we are humbled and privileged by their generosity and creating this perpetual fund for generations of students. The fact that the Giese family thought about us is pretty awesome,” said VC Law Enforcement Academy Director James Martinez.
