Long-Term Care Activity Director

Activity directors oversee recreational activities among elderly or special needs populations. 

Victoria College offers long-term care activity director training courses through its Continuing Education & Workforce Training Department. The courses will provide you with state-mandated training and certification to work as a qualified activity professional as required by the Texas Department of Human Services for Nursing Home/Extended Care facilities in the State of Texas.

Coursework includes:

  • Assessment of client needs
  • Development of plans of care
  • Designing programs using therapeutic recreation techniques
  • Supervision of recreation personnel
