Victoria College seeking photos, info for new book documenting school’s history

IMG_3046 Photos like this one taken in 1959 of Victoria College’s Saberettes are being sought to publish in a new pictorial history of VC.

Dr. Karen Hagan, associate history professor at Victoria College, is collecting photographs and information for a new pictorial history of Victoria College.

“Acadian Publishing contacted Victoria College about adding our campus to their college history series,” Hagan said. “With Victoria College approaching its centennial in 2025, it seemed like a good time to get involved in a project like this.”

Photos can be delivered to Victoria College’s Marketing & Communications Department located in the College Services & Training Building on VC’s Main Campus at 2200 E. Red River Street or emailed to

All photos will be returned. Submitted photos should include the date the photo was taken and identifications of everyone and the places in the photo, if possible.

“Acadian’s campus history series is excellent,” Hagan said. “It includes major universities and important colleges, and I’m delighted they want to add Victoria College to their list of schools. But we need pictures. We want to include new photos that haven’t been published before, so we are seeking photographs from VC’s inception in 1925 up to the current day. If you have any pictures of Victoria College events or activities that you are willing to share, please send them to us as soon as possible.”
