Victoria College students and employees combined to deliver goody baskets and drinks to local first responders and hospital personnel on April 27 during VC’s annual Pirates Give Back event.

The items, donated by Victoria College students and employees, were delivered to the Victoria Fire Department, Victoria Police Department, Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, Citizens Medical Center and DeTar Hospital Navarro. Members of VC’s Student Government Association and Respiratory Care Progam helped deliver the items.

“On behalf of all of the men and women of the Victoria Fire Department, we would like to thank Victoria College students and staff for their generous support of the members of our department through the giving of the wonderful baskets and drinks,” said VFD Chief Taner Drake. “What a thoughtful and appreciated gesture. We thank VC for thinking of us for the Pirates Give Back day.”

“It is a privilege to honor the men and women who risk their lives to protect ours and show our appreciation to those who work in the healthcare professions,” said VC Student Life Director Elaine Everett-Hensley. “We are proud of our students and employees for showing their support and donating their time to express their thanks.”
