The Blinn College Buccaneers took a three-set volleyball victory over the Victoria College Pirates on Tuesday night at the Sports Center.
Blinn College, ranked No. 20 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association poll, came back from a 9-5 deficit to win the third set 25-20. The Buccaneers (9-5) won the previous two sets by scores of 25-18, 25-17.
Victoria College, which competes in the Texas Collegiate Club Sports League, fell to 0-12 and was led by Katy Salziger of Goliad and Kate Sexton of Palacios, who had eight kills each. Amber Hernandez (Converse Judson) had 11 assists and Bailey Brown (Edna) added nine for the Pirates. VC’s Victoria McDevitt (Victoria West) recorded five blocks and Skylar Chreene (Industrial) tallied 12 digs.
The Pirates will compete this weekend in the North Central Texas College tournament in Gainesville.
