VC’s ‘What’s Your Story?’ scholarship contest open for entries

Victoria College students will have the opportunity to win $1,000 scholarships by explaining how VC has impacted them on their path to success in either an essay or video.

Essay and video submissions are due Friday, April 5. Students can visit for application and submission information.

“We have many student success stories at Victoria College. This contest gives our students an opportunity to share their stories, earn a scholarship and appear in VC marketing materials – all while accomplishing their academic goals,” said VC Foundation Development Director Susan Prukop.

Students can submit a 500- to 750-word essay or a 2- to 3-minute video, telling their personal stories and explaining how education or training will help shape their futures. Winners will also be featured in VC’s marketing materials.

Students can submit entries in one of six categories:

  • Business, Technology and Industrial Trades
  • Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Education
  • Health Careers and Public Service
  • Science, Engineering and Math
  • Adult Education
  • Video

“The stories should be about the students’ goals, their challenges and sources of inspiration,” said Amy Mundy, executive director of the VC Foundation. “We want to know how their education and training will shape their career track and future aspirations.”

The 2018 “What’s Your Story?” Scholarship winners were Tiki Venglar, Brandi Stafford, Savanna Schmidt and Luke Harper.
