Students in Victoria College’s Kids College can get hands-on experience with wildlife from the Crossroads region.
Victoria College will partner with the Texas Master Naturalist Mid-Coast Chapter to present a week of education and fun for children ages 5 to 12 with Kids College on June 24-27 at VC’s Emerging Technology Complex.
“We are excited to team with the Texas Master Naturalist Mid-Coast Chapter again to educate the children on the appreciation of our native wildlife,” said VC Workforce & Continuing Education Program Coordinator Mary Hardy. “Early registration is encouraged as we expect these classes to fill up.”
VC’s Kids College will feature two “Junior Naturalist” camps – one for ages 5-8 and one for ages 9-12. Both camps will be held in Room 304 of the Conference & Education Center.
The camp for ages 5-8 will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., and the camp for ages 9-12 will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Students in both camps will learn how animals adapt to the environment; learn how to journal; discover why snakes, lizards and toads are vital to the local ecology; and learn about fishing and water safety on the final day at Ethel Lee Tracy Park.
The cost for each “Junior Naturalist” camp is $60.
Victoria College’s Emerging Technology Complex is located at 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria.
