VC’s Museum of the Coastal Bend to host fun, fall events

Victoria College’s Museum of the Coastal Bend will host fun and family-friendly events this fall.

Celebrate International Archaeology Day on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Participate in free activities for children and adults. The museum’s Public Archaeology Lab volunteers will host a free artifact ID session from 1-3 p.m.

Hands-on History: Cave Painting will also be taking place on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. Learn how to make pigments from powdered minerals and create your own cave art paintings and drawings just like the early people of Texas. Appropriate for children and adults; $5 supply fee per person. Free for museum members and VC employees. Advance registration is not required for Hands-on History activities. Supplies are limited; first-come, first-served.

Experience the museum like never before this spooky season at Spooky Flashlight Tour on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5-7 p.m. Flashlights will be furnished to all attendees.
