Abbott & Fenner Business Consultatants Scholarship

The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.

To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on the topic: What was the most difficult time in your life, and why? How did your perspective on life change as a result of this difficult?

The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words. Your submissions must be sent to us by email at: scholarships@abbottandfenner.com

The Eta Pi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is offering one $500 grant-in-aid scholarship for use in fall 2012 or spring 2013 to high school and/or college grantees.

CableTV.com Psychological Impact of TV Scholarship

The CableTV.com Psychological Impact of TV Scholarship is open to current or prospective college students who are enrolled or are planning on enrolling in a college or university program. The scholarship can be applied to any accredited U.S. university. Essays will be no longer than 1000 words in length and will be judged by professional writers. The criteria by which the essays will be judged are:

  • Originality and effectiveness of argument
  • Depth of information
  • Grammar

TG Wootan Grant

The TG Wootan Grant has been proud to support a grant program designed to provide help to students pursuing a higher education and who have financial need.

$100,000 is allotted to our area and a student can receive up to $4000 in funding for a 2 or 4 year education.  This money can be used for part-time studies or toward a certificate, even in vocational/career programs. 

A one page application is all that needs to be filled out – No essay, No GPA (must be in good academic standings), Not even SAT/ACT scores! Complete a FAFSA application today and visit www.aie.org/wootan to learn more about the TG Wootan Grant.

Travel Award Program

Applications are now open for students attending HACU-member institutions for the Dándole Alas a Tu Éxito/Giving Flight to Your SuccessT ¡Lánzate! Travel Award Program. The program provides students who travel away from home to pursue a higher education the opportunity to apply for a chance to receive a travel award. Eligibility requirements for interested students are listed below.

Award recipients may be awarded 1-4 roundtrip tickets for the student and/or parent to use when traveling to/from the college/university. The complimentary airline ticket(s) can be used for travel to any of the Southwest Airlines destinations.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student must be enrolled in a college or university away from their designated home.
  • Student must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA and show financial need.
  • HACU will verify academic standing and financial need with the respective universities after the selection committee makes their final recommendations, prior to final selection and distribution of the travel award to the student.
  • Applicants must be 18 years old or older and a legal U.S. resident.

The deadline is April 30.

HACU Scholarship Program

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is now accepting online applications for its Scholarship Program until May 25, 2012. To apply to the program students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled at a HACU-member college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico at the time applications are completed and scholarships awarded.
  • Demonstrate financial need and be eligible for Federal Financial Aid (student must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
  • Meet criteria for specific scholarships to which they are applying.

Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by Friday, May 25, 2012. Scholarships will be awarded in the fall for the 2012-13 academic year. The deadline is May 25, 2012. For more information about HACU scholarships, see here.

Shades of Color Professional Club Scholarship

The goal of the Shades of Color Professional Club is to enable applicants to pursue and attain educational goals and professional academic achievement.

The applicant must:

  • Be presently enrolled at Victoria College or attending UH- Victoria Campus for 2-4 years.
  • Be pursuing a degree in any facet of the medical field.

Denton Regional Medical Center Scholarship

Several years ago, volunteers at Denton Regional Medical Center established a scholarship fund with the mission to promote educational opportunities to students studying in the healthcare field. We are seeking your help, as an institution of higher education, with making students aware of this opportunity for financial assistance. 

These scholarships are available to postsecondary students who

  • are currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning in the state of Texas;
  • have completed a minimum of one (1) year of study;
  • plan to continue their education in a healthcare field at a postsecondary institution in the state of Texas; and
  • have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Dr. Alma S. Adams 2012 Scholarship

The goal of the Dr. Alma S. Adams 2012 Scholarship is to promote outreach and health to reduce tobacco use among priority populations.  Two scholarships in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to students who have shown a commitment to reducing tobacco use through community service for an undeserved community and through the use of visual arts.

Texas Exes Scholarship

The Victoria Area Texas Exes provide 4-6 scholarships each year to Victoria and Jackson County students ranging from $750 to $2500.  In addition all local scholarship applicants receive fully paid access to Camp Texas.  

The application deadline for the Victoria Area Texas Exes Scholarships is April 13, 2012.

Charles, Lela, and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship

Charles Gordon Slough established the Charles, Lela, and Mary Slough Foundation Scholarship with the expressed purpose of helping needy Texas students attend college.  In agreement with Bank of America, Midland College reviews and recommends the scholarships for Texas residents entering or enrolled in any college or university in the United States.

College for all Texans Grant Program

This scholarship is a need-based, one-time-only $1500 award to be granted to 965 Pell Grant-eligible Texas students.
