Real Estate
To be eligible to apply for real estate Salesperson License, an individual must be a citizen of the United States or a lawfully admitted alien, eighteen (18) years of age or older and a legal resident of Texas. To be eligible to apply for a real estate Salesperson License, an individual must furnish the Commission satisfactory evidence of successfully completing the following education:
- Texas Principles of Real Estate core real estate course
(60 classroom hours)
- Texas Law of Agency core real estate course
(30 classroom hours)
- Texas Law of Contracts core real estate course
(30 classroom hours)
- An additional three (90 classroom hours) in related courses acceptable to the Texas Real Estate Commission.
Both core and related courses are available through online instruction.

Texas Principles of Real Estate
This single course meets the 60-hour Principles (I & II) of Real Estate core course requirement. The course covers:

National Real Estate Exam Prep: The SMART Guide to PassingThis exam preparation program was prepared after a careful analysis of all of the testing formats that a real estate applicant may encounter. The program is composed of the ten topics found on all of the testing service exams and many state exams. The program also includes two 100-question practice exams: one salesperson practice exam and one broker practice exam. There are a total of 1,000 questions in this exam prep program.
