A key area of giving that is integral to the sustainability of The Victoria College is financial support for Capital Projects. Capital gifts leave a lasting impression and ensure campus facilities can serve generations of students for many years to come. Contributions may also be utilized as a perpetual endowment where the gift is invested and earnings used to finance building projects, purchase state-of-the-art equipment or maintain campus capital improvements.
Capital gifts include naming opportunities for facilities, buildings or rooms. Naming opportunities are currently available for classrooms, labs, lecture halls and lounges for the newly-constructed 76,750 sq. ft. Health Sciences Center. Classes in the new building began Spring 2009. The M.G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation has awarded The Victoria College with a $1 million challenge grant to initiate this project. An additional $1.5 million community match is needed to completely equip the Center and meet our challenge. The names of donors who contribute $50 or more will be included on an artistic model of a DNA double helix that is located in The Victoria College Science Building.
