TexPREP is a mathematics-based, academic enrichment program that emphasizes the development of abstract reasoning and problem solving skills and helps junior high students prepare for careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The program is presented over the course of three summers and includes coursework, team projects, class presentations, examinations, career awareness speakers, field trips and special events. Elective credits may be earned upon successful completion to apply to a student’s high school credits.
Who is eligible for the program?
Students who complete the sixth grade by Summer 2012 and are interested in mathematics, science, technology, or engineering careers are eligible for the TexPREP program. Minority and female students are especially encouraged to apply.
How does my child enroll?
First-Time Students
Students will need to submit the following documents.

Printed and Signed Confirmation Page (found upon completion of application)

Copy of the student’s most recent report card

100- to 200-word essay from the student describing why he or she wants to attend PREP

Returning Students
YEAR 2 and YEAR 3 returning students need to complete the appropriate application below and provide a copy of their most recent report card by Friday, April 13, 2012.
Applications are accepted regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, gender or disability.
How much does the program cost?
There are no tuition or fees associated with the Victoria TexPREP program.
When and where?
Students enrolled in the program will meet at Victoria College four days a week (Mondays through Thursdays). The program will run from June 11, 2012 - July 26, 2012. Each day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with tutoring from 8:00-8:30 a.m. The day will conclude at 4:30 p.m. with tutoring from 4:30-5:00 p.m.
