Use of College Facilities
USE OF COLLEGE FACILITIES

A. Fine Arts Auditorium and Johnson Symposium Center

Purpose:  In keeping with its philosophy, mission and purpose, The Victoria College encourages the use of the Fine Arts Auditorium and Johnson Symposium Center for the intellectual and cultural growth of its students. In addition, it allows use of the facilities by other schools and governmental units and by community not-for-profit cultural and arts organizations. As time and space permit, the college may allow private, for-profit organizations to use the facilities provided that such programs are not contrary to the goals of the college.


Reservation Policies and Rental Fees: 
The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing Reservation Policies and Rental Fees which give the college priority in using these facilities but which also encourage use of the facilities by governmental bodies, other educational institutions, and not-for-profit community based organizations.

Rules and Regulations:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing and enforcing rules and regulations for use of the facilities.Liability The renter, the organization and each of its officers shall be responsible for any damage or injury to persons or property occurring on or about the facilities rented by them during the period of their use. They shall indemnify the college against any damage or injury suffered by it and against any loss or liability asserted against the college for injury to persons or property and arising out of, or in connection with, the rental of The Victoria College Fine Arts Auditorium and Johnson Symposium Center.

Copyright Disclaimer:  The renter shall accept all responsibility for, and hold harmless, indemnify and defend The Victoria College from any liability or expense arising out of the use of any compositions of members of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers or any other copyright owner, that shall be performed in connection with any use of The Victoria College facilities.

Advertisement:  The Victoria College reserves the right to review all advertising for events held in these facilities, to require the renter to revise advertising the college finds objectionable and cancel the reservation if the renter does not make the required changes.

Booking Agent:  The booking agent is the secretary in the Fine Arts Department. 

 

B. Student Center

Purpose:  In keeping with its philosophy, mission and purpose, The Victoria College encourages use of the Student Center for the physical, social and cultural growth of its students. In addition, it allows use of the facilities by other schools and governmental units and by community non-for-profit organizations. As time and space permit, the college may allow private, for-profit organizations to use the facilities for education, non-profit generating activities.

Reservation Policies and Rental Fees:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing Student Center Operating Policies which give the college priority in using these facilities but which also encourage use of the facilities by governmental bodies, other educational institutions and not-for-profit community based organizations.

Rules and Regulations:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing and enforcing rules and regulations for use of the facilities.Liability The renter, the organization and each of its officers shall be responsible for any damage or injury to persons or property occurring on or about the facilities rented by them during the period of their use. Booking Agent:  The booking agent in the Student Center is the Director of Student Center and Student Activities.

Use of Alcoholic Beverages:  
  1. Alcoholic beverages may only be served in the Student Center and in the Museum of the Coastal Bend and only by a licensed insured caterer.
  2. Alcoholic beverages may not be served without food which may be provided only through a caterer on the College's list of caterers.
  3. Any group sponsoring a function in which alcoholic beverages are to be served will be responsible for providing security.
  4. Alcoholic beverages will not be served at any function sponsored by The Victoria College, without the specific authorization of the College President.
  5. The Victoria College President may, at his discretion, impose additional requirements.

 C. Sports Center

Purpose:  In keeping with its philosophy, mission and purpose, The Victoria College encourages use of the Sports Center for the physical, social and cultural growth of its students. In addition, it allows use of the facilities by other schools and governmental units and by community not-for-profit organizations. As time and space permit, the college may allow private, for-profit organizations to use the facilities for educational, non-profit generating activities.

Reservation Policies and Rental Fees:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing Sports Center Operating Policies which give the college priority in using these facilities but which also encourage use of the facilities by governmental bodies, other educational institutions and not-for-profit community based organizations.

Rules and Regulations:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing and enforcing rules and regulations for use of the facilities.Liability The renter, the organization and each of its officers shall be responsible for any damage or injury to persons or property occurring on or about the facilities rented by them during the period of their use. They shall indemnify the college against any damage or injury suffered by it and against any loss or liability asserted against the college for injury to persons or property and arising out of, or in connection with, the rental of The Victoria College Sports Center.

D. Classroom Buildings

Purpose:  In keeping with its philosophy, mission and purpose, The Victoria College allows use of classrooms in one or more of the Classroom Buildings by other schools and governmental units and by non-profit community organizations. As time and space permit, the college may allow private, for-profit organizations to use the facilities for educational, non-profit generating activities.

Reservation Policies and Rental Fees:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing Reservation Policies and Rental Fees for classroom usage which give the college priority in using these facilities but which also encourages use of the facilities by governmental bodies, other educational institutions and non-profit community based organizations.

Rules and Regulations:  The President of The Victoria College shall be responsible for establishing and enforcing rules and regulations for use of the facilities.Liability The renter, the organization and each of its officers shall be responsible for any damage or injury to persons or property occurring on or about the facilities rented to them during the period of their use. They shall indemnify the college against any damage or injury suffered by it and against any loss or liability asserted against the college for injury to persons or property and arising out of, or in connection with, the rental of The Victoria College classroom space.

Booking Agent:  The booking agent for classroom space is the Vice President of Instruction.

 

E.  Special Events Parking

Purpose:   On campus parking is critical between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; therefore, every effort should be made to avoid scheduling events that require campus parking during these critical hours.

Procedures:   Special events that must be scheduled during these peak use hours may request reserve parking if less than ten (10) spaces are required. A maintenance request form should be completed and submitted at least five (5) days in advance of the event identifying the specific number of spaces (less than 10) and the desired location.

Events requiring ten (10) parking spaces or more will not be permitted to utilize reserved parking but will be allowed to park on campus.

All sponsors of special events should provide visitors to the campus with a copy of a campus map, a visitor parking permit and information concerning the best parking lot to utilize.

Events requiring the use of ten (10) or more school buses may request the area in front of the Auditorium to be reserved. Arrangements must be made in advance with the Director of Physical Plant.
