VC Guest and Faculty Recital concert to feature soloists, ensembles

The third concert in Victoria College’s Guest and Faculty Recital Series will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 in the Johnson Symposium on VC’s Main Campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature full-time and part-time VC music faculty who will perform solos and ensembles. Among the soloists are:

  •     Patricia Balmer, soprano, accompanied by Dr. Marylynn Fletcher on piano, singing three songs by Baroque composer Henry Purcell
  •     Ken Peach, trumpet, accompanied by Fletcher on piano, performing “All ‘Antica” by Alphonse Goeyens
  •     Miranda Partida, oboe, accompanied by Fletcher on piano, performing “Largo e Allegretto” by Baroque composer Benedetto Marcello
  •     David Lester, guitar, playing “Prelude No. 4” by Heitor Villa-Lobos
  •     Eugenie Fuhrman and guest Sandra Glenn, sopranos, accompanied by Fletcher on piano, singing three duets including the “Comic Duet for Two Cats” by Gioachino Rossini
  •     Joseph Ledesma, trumpet, accompanied by Fletcher on piano, playing “Legende” by George Enescu
